Giridih, Jharkhand, India: The launch of three digital platforms dedicated to preserving Hodopathy and Jharkhand’s traditional Adivasi medicinal knowledge received prominent coverage in Prabhat Khabar on 9 October 2026.

The newspaper reported on environmentalist and agripreneur Rajeev Singh’s initiative to document indigenous healing traditions, preserve medicinal plant knowledge and explore opportunities for scientific research.

The inauguration of Hodopathy.com, Hodopathy.org and Hodopathy.in in Giridih marks an effort to bring generations of orally transmitted traditional knowledge into a structured digital documentation framework.

The platforms aim to preserve the experiences of Adivasi elders, traditional healers and community knowledge holders while encouraging responsible knowledge sharing and intergenerational learning.

According to the report, the programme will advance through three stages. The first involves developing a digital collection of traditional knowledge. The second proposes a publication documenting experienced healers’ knowledge and medicinal plants. The third focuses on youth training and exploring scientific studies in collaboration with research institutions.

The initiative also includes Hodopathy Park in Gandey, connecting digital knowledge preservation with medicinal plant conservation and forest biodiversity awareness.

Rajeev Singh emphasised that traditional knowledge documentation must respect the consent, rights and contributions of indigenous knowledge holders. Scientific investigation, where undertaken, will provide opportunities to study documented practices through established research methods.

By combining digital technology, traditional wisdom, education and proposed scientific research, the initiative seeks to develop a lasting knowledge resource for future generations.

The Prabhat Khabar coverage recognises an important effort to preserve indigenous knowledge while creating opportunities for learning, conservation and research.
